The Clinic can accept credit card donations through its secure portal. Your payment is secure. Our donation system complies with PCI DSS standards and uses advanced encryption to protect your personal data. If you prefer to give by check, they can be mailed to FHPC, 401 E. Donating appreciated stock directly to the clinic offers a double tax advantage: you can deduct the full fair market value (if you itemize) while avoiding capital gains tax and the Medicare surtax entirely.
Beginning at age 70½, you can transfer up to $111,000 (2026 limit) directly from your IRA to a qualifying charity. The transfer counts as neither income nor a taxable distribution — and starting at age 73, it also satisfies your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
You can name a charity as a percentage beneficiary of your IRA, allowing you to support your family and the causes you care about. This is also tax-smart: unlike your heirs, a charity pays no income tax on an inherited IRA.

What Will Your Legacy Be?
Every gift to the clinic tells a story- a story of compassion, of community and of believing the work we do together matters. Planned giving is a meaningful way to ensure your chpater of that story continues. And done carefully, it may also mean a tax savings for your heirs, particularly when it comes to inherited IRAs.
Your legacy is already being written in the lives you’ve touched. Planned giving is simply the act of intentionally deciding how that story continues. We would be honored to be a part of that conversation – please reach out to Suzanne or Vanessa to explore what options may be available to you.
By directing a percentage of your estate — rather than a fixed dollar amount — to charity in your will, you ensure your heirs are provided for no matter how the value of your estate may change over time. Here is language you can use: "I give and bequeath [X]% of my residuary estate to [FULL LEGAL NAME OF CHARITY], a nonprofit organization located at [ADDRESS], for its general charitable purposes."
Consider naming a charity as a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA. Because IRAs are funded with pre-tax dollars, any amount your heirs inherit will be treated as ordinary taxable income — a tax burden that a charitable organization, unlike individual heirs, can avoid entirely.
You can make a charity a full or partial beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Contact your insurance company and request a Change of Beneficiary form. You'll need the charity's:
- Full legal name
- Address
- EIN (tax ID number)
You can split the benefit — for example, 90% to family and 10% to charity — by designating multiple beneficiaries with percentages that add up to 100%.
Volunteer
The Clinic relies on volunteers and community support. Your experience at FHPC means creating a perfect match, both for the clinic and you. We meet with you to discover your interests and talents. We then match you with our needs and introduce you to the staff and other volunteers.
You will fill out a short volunteer application and tour the clinic. Happy volunteers are those that feel their talents are being utilized, appreciated and their non-profit is making a sizable difference in their community. We set a standard to perform all three.

Family Health Partnership Clinic (FHPC) is pleased to welcome The Pink Door Thrift Shop in McHenry. The upscale thrift store, with a long history of supporting healthcare services in McHenry County, was originally started by and supported the McHenry Hospital Auxiliary. The store’s mission is to support local health care and it will continue its legacy by supporting Family Health Partnership Clinic.
Volunteers manage and staff the Pink Door and have worked tirelessly to donate proceeds to help bring healthcare to those less fortunate. The Pink Door is always looking to add Volunteers to their team! If you have a few hours available every week or every other week, please contact Janet at the Pink Door for more information on Volunteer opportunities!
