Clinic Bids Farewell to Physician – Dr. Jon Russell has always had a heart for the underserved. At the Family Health Partnership Clinic, he began providing opthamology care to uninsured patients in 1999 Dr. Russell has been in private practice for over 25 years and during that time has donated countless hours not only to the Clinic, but to other low vision clinics throughout northern Illinois. At the Family Health Partnership Clinic, Dr. Russell donated a slit lamp and chair, and a number of optical supplies that the Clinic needed. His clinic was quite popular, and patients who had gone for years with poor vision were finally able to get help . Dr. Russell has a practice in Marengo, Marengo Vision Center, and he is also involved with the Low Vision Service Center for Sight and Hearing in Rockford which provides services to those in need. His expertise will be greatly missed by the staff and patients at the clinic. Kathy Rauch, Volunteer Coordinator, shared “For 14 years, Dr. Russell has provided optometry services for our patients in need of more specialized care. We cannot thank him enough for his care and compassion month after month, for so many years”. His departure creates the need for an optometrist to replace him.
