Meet our Intern Kirsten :)

We are very fortunate to have Central Michigan University student Kirsten Morey with us this summer as a Leadership Greater McHenry County intern! We asked Kirsten to explain what her role is at FHPC. 🙂‘Leadership Greater McHenry County’s Nonprofit internship program works to grow leaders in our community. This internship provides tons of leadership experience and professional development over the course of the summer. Monday through Thursday morning I work at the clinic helping wherever needed, but primarily focusing on 2 programs for our action learning project. The first is a Social Determinates of health program where we screen patients to see if we can provide them with any resources the community has to offer such as childcare, Covid-19 response, food and rent assistance. The second project is forming a patient advisory board for the clinic focused primary on health equity. Thursday afternoon I visit other non-profits in McHenry County to hear their story and help with whatever is needed. On Fridays all 6 interns get together to grow our leadership skills and talk about the week. At the end of the summer, we present our Action Learning Projects as a way to give back to our host organizations for the wonderful time they had given us this summer. ”43People Reached10EngagementsBoost Unavailable
